It’s probably good that they don’t give people the option as to how they want to be paid. It sounds fun, but I just know that I would blow through my entire year’s salary in about a week. Somehow.

#14 – The Mask

I know what you are thinking. The Mask isn’t a Halloween movie. My question is this: Why is The Mask not a Halloween movie? Sure, a handful of us know that the movie is actually based on a comic book so it’s technically a comic book movie. But aside from that? Let’s face it – The Mask is a great Halloween movie.

Okay, Jim Carrey is a little over the top but he’s actually rather restrained in his scenes when he isn’t wearing The Mask. I’ll admit it. The dog is a little frustrating, but he’s worth it for the eventual payoff.

And if you ever wonder why people get their knickers in a twist about Cameron Diaz, well this is the movie to learn why. It is not easy to hold the audience’s attention when you are standing next to Jim Carrey but Diaz rises to the challenge by singing, smirking, gasping in surprise, and making everyone believe a gorgeous woman could fall for a guy in a goofy green mask.

Forget the sequels. Even the amazing Alan Cummings couldn’t save those. Stick with the original and the Halloween movie that everyone has forgotten.
